The Marion County Search & Rescue Team has many training opportunities for it's volunteers to help them become equipped to handle emergency response situations. Most training is provided and paid for by the team for it's members. Below we'll post each new training session that comes our way. And in the team member Bio section we will list each team members certifications in honor of their accomplishment.

Search & Rescue
CPR/AED/ First-Aid Training & Certification, In this course you'll learn how to properly perform CPR on Infants, Children and Adults as well as how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). You'll also learn First-Aid to care for wounds, cuts & scrapes as well as, drug overdoses, electroshock's, strokes, heart attacks and more.
Wilderness First Aid Training & Certification, The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course will help you prepare for the unexpected. This fast paced, hands-on training is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. It will introduce you to caring for people who become ill or injured far from definitive medical care. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning. At the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge, skills and ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Citizens Academy and Partnership (CAP) program, a free 12-week educational course about the operations of the Sheriff’s Office. The fall program just started in August. We will post pictures updating the current class of MCSAR team members upon their graduation. The picture above is from a previous class.
